Our Story
The Eickhoff Funeral Home was founded in 1947 by the late Harry and Margaret Eickhoff. Following World War II, they visited Mendon shortly after the local funeral director, Roy Olney, had died. They took one look at the home's beautiful location on the St. Joseph River and fell in love with it. More importantly, they came to love the people of Mendon and chose this place to raise their family. Harry and Margaret were blessed with seven children: Sue, Jon, Marty, Rick, Dale, Tom, and Lynn. Their fifth child, Dale, has been licensed since 1977. Since purchasing the business in 1983, he and his wife, Vicki, have been providing care to the Mendon community while raising their five sons, Jason, Brian, Kevin, Aaron, and Glenn. The youngest son, Glenn, received his license in April of 2022 and now works alongside his dad, Dale. It is truly a family-owned and operated funeral home, dedicated to providing three generations of personal service. We are proud to be your neighbor and privileged to be your friend since 1947.
