Obituary

Ursula Monroe, age 70 of Mendon died Sunday April 20, 2014 at her home. She was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany on Oct. 23, 1943 the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Krick. She met and married Lee Monroe on July 26, 1962 while Lee was serving in the U.S. Army, and has been a resident of Mendon since 1970.

Ursula had been employed at Research Molding and Lear Plastics in Mendon. For a few years she operated a ceramic store in downtown Mendon. She was a 4-H and Brownie Scout Leader, and a former member of the German-American Club.

Ursula is survived by her husband, Lee; three children, Evy Schaffer and Yvonne Briggs both of Mendon, and Peter (Amy) Monroe of Lakeland, FL; eleven grandchildren, Tricia and Nikolas Huff, Nicole Peterson, Michael Briggs, Richard Speece, Lara Speece, Dennis Monroe, Peter Monroe, Kirsten Pritchard, Brittany Carr, and Megann Monroe; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Krick and Albert Krick; and two sisters, Eva Haab and Elizabeth Reither all of Germany.

Cremation has been conducted. A private family service will be held later. Condolences may be left for the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
