T.J. Kirk, age 62 of Mendon died Thursday Feb. 18, 2016 at his home. He was born near Dowagiac, MI on May 29, 1953 the son of Donald N. and Katherine (Woodhams) Kirk. After graduating from Cassopolis High School, T.J. was married to Cathy Bradley on July 18, 1975 in Three Rivers. They have resided in Mendon since 1976. T.J. worked at Weyerhauser in Three Rivers for 29 years and attended the Calvary Chapel. In his spare time he enjoyed drag racing at Osceola and Martin, working on cars and on the house, fishing, and spending time with his family.

T.J. is survived by his wife, Cathy; two daughters, Brandi (Keith) Monroe of Mendon and Christy (Ryan) Hutton of White Pigeon; four grandchildren, Tyler Monroe, Matthew Hutton, Kiley Hutton, and Breydon Hutton; two brothers, Charles (Deb) Kirk and Steve (Kristi) Kirk; sisters in law, Anna, Inga, and Shannon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, William, and Randy Kirk; and a sister, Sharon Kirk.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday , and from 11 AM to 1 PM Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday Feb. 22, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Sischo officiating. Cremation will follow services with a private interment in Mendon Cemetery.
