Shirley M. Davis, age 86, formerly of Mendon died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018 at Medilodge Westwood in Kalamazoo. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 17, 1932 the daughter of the late Oscar Eugene Smith and Evelyn Isabelle (Clark) Smith. She was married to Alyn E. Davis on May 6, 1956. They resided in Riverside, California before moving to Mendon in 1963.

Shirley was a homemaker who also worked at Sturgis Molded Products, Research Molding and Lear Sigler both in Mendon. She also was a salesperson for Jewel Tea Company, Avon Products, and Sara Coventry. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, and reading. Shirley liked canning produce from her own garden and enjoyed cooking for her family. She had a great sense of humor, and could set almost any response to music.

Shirley is survived by four children, Cheryl Carlson-Kline of Three Rivers, Alyn Earl (Gail) Davis of Shorewood, IL, Bradley (Carolyn) Davis of Omaha, NE, and Karen Bryant of Three Rivers; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother in law, Glenn Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alyn; son, Richard; and sisters, Margaret Roberts, and Dorothy Voorhees.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A graveside service and interment of her cremains will take place later in Mendon Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
