Scott Allen Kent, age 53 of Leonidas, passed away on October 28, 2023 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.  He was born on September 21, 1970 in Battle Creek, the son of Ronald and Vickie (Clark) Kent.  Scott was a graduate of the 1990 class from Mendon High School.  On January 5, 1991 Scott would marry Sharon (aka Kathy) Jeffries.  Later that year in 1991, he would join the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1993.  Scott worked for Vanguard Trucking Company and later was an employee at Maxitrol in Colon.  In his free time, Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching old movies.  He also enjoyed helping out on the farm, but loved playing farm simulator even more.  In his younger years, Scott loved taking trips up north to Baldwin.

Scott is survived by his mother Vickie Ruddock; 4 children, Travis (Katelyn Schwartz) Jeffries of Colon, Ashley (Will) Stanton of New York, Tyler (Haley) Kent of Texas, and Devin (Cassie Snook) Kent of Coldwater; 9 grandchildren, Seth Shumate, Carter Jeffries, Lilly Stanton, Izabell Stanton, Brayson Stanton, Maddox Stanton, Dawson Hoppe, Owen Kent, Abby Kent, and one on the way in December;  Siblings, Dawn (Kevin) Pant, Heather Wordelman, and Shawn (Francine) Ruddock; and many nieces and nephews.  Scott was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, father Ronald, step-father Nick, grandson Trevor, and his grandparents.

In keeping with family wishes, cremation is being conducted.  There will be a private family ceremony at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, where Scott will receive military honors.  There will be a public celebration of Scott's life scheduled at a later date.  Condolences and memories may be expressed to Scott's family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
