Sandra Sue Welty, age 77, formerly of Sturgis, passed away due to various health complications on Wednesday Jan. 5, 2022 at Fairview Living & Rehabilitation Community.  She was born in Coldwater, MI on Feb. 18, 1944 the daughter of Ronald Jerome Worden and Madge (Haywood) Worden.  She graduated from Coldwater High School, and later was married to John Joseph Welty on Aug. 7, 1965. Joe owned Welty Music Inc., while Sandra worked at Sturgis Public Schools, Bucknell Hardware, and the Fashion Bug. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and later joined the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis She enjoyed dancing, music, and her pets.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Jody (Kevin) Mitchell of Raleigh, NC; a son, Matt (Jasmine) Welty of San Diego, CA; step-daughter, Tammy (Michael) Matthews of Clarkston, MI; two grandchildren, Tristen and Ashton Mitchell; a sister, Joyce (John) Parker of The Villages, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Phyllis Jean Kaley; and a brother, Ronald Roy Worden, Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Worden; brother-in-law, Larry Kaley; and two nephews, Jeff Parker and Brian Worden.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held in the Spring of 2022 in Coldwater, MI.
