Ruth Hannah Tamse, age 96 of Vicksburg, died Saturday June 16, 2012 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She was born in Kalamazoo on April 17, 1916 the daughter of Eli and Mattie (Phillips) LaRose and was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She was married to Jack T. Tamse on April 17, 1937 in Indiana. They owned and operated a farm near Vicksburg until Jack's death on Dec. 31, 1979. She was a 57 year member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Vicksburg.

Ruth is survived by a son, Wayne Tamse; a daughter, Dorothy Tamse both of Vicksburg; and a sister, Mattie DeMoore of Portage. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eickhoff funeral Home in Mendon. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday June 23, 2012 at Kingdom Hall in Vicksburg with David Hoyt officiating. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
