Ruth (Douglas) Ringel, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday Feb. 19, 2015 at Bronson Commons in Mattawan, MI. Before entering Bronson Commons, Ruth spent a lot of time reading her Bible. She loved to garden, crochet and do various other crafts, and play cards . She was born in Chicago, IL on June 27, 1924 the daughter of the late John and Mary (Turk) Secondi and attended Lawton Schools. She was married to Arthur Steven Douglas on Dec. 24, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. They were together 43 years and residing in Mendon when Art died on Sep. 12, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Douglas-Fisher, a son, Arthur Douglas, Jr.; a grandson, Jeffrey Douglas; three brothers and one sister. Ruth married John Ringel on June 30, 1989. John passed away on Aug. 31, 1999.

Ruth is survived by a daughter Barb (Bill) Mauk; a son, Don Douglas both of Lawton; two step-children, Dena (Rick) Barbas of Detroit and Jim (Karen) Ringel of Glendale; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Secondi of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A graveside service and interment of ashes in Mendon Cemetery will take place at a later date. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
