Robert S. Hippen, age 76 of Vicksburg, died Saturday May 5, 2012 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He was born on Nov. 5, 1935 the son of Harm and Etta (Boelman) Hippen and was a lifetime resident of the Vicksburg area. He attended Vicksburg Schools and served in the National Guard. Bob was a lifetime farmer who also worked at Simpson Paper Company for over 40 years. He had a special love of animals, nature, and being outdoors.
Bob was married to Marilyn M. Batten on March 1, 1958 in Mendon. She died in 2002. He is survived by 2 children, Dawn Hall of Vicksburg and Daryl Hippen of Fulton; the world's best granddaughter, Katelyn "Kia" Hall; and former son in law, Micheal Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Herman Hippen.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday (today) at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
