Randy Jay Kline was born in Sturgis, Michigan on August 6, 1946 the son of Lee E. and Addie E. (Harrison) Kline. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Leonidas and most of his adult life in Three Rivers, where he passed away on August 23, 2026.

Randy attended Colon High School and was part of the 1965 graduating class, he played trombone in the band and was presented the John Philip Sousa Award. He served in the U.S. Army Band while stationed in Virginia during the Viet Nam War, from 1965 to 1967. During his time in the Army, Randy received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Sharpshooter Badge. Following his military service, he moved to Three Rivers, living with and caring for his mother until her passing on October 22, 1998. He continued to play his trombone, belonging to three different bands; a Swing Band and German Band in Three Rivers, and a German Band in Kalamazoo.

Randy worked at TH Plastics in Mendon, retiring at age 73 on May 25, 2020. He was a member of the Grace Communion International Church (formerly the Worldwide Church of God).

Randy was preceded in passing by his parents; his siblings; Patricia L Palmiter, baby Burton D Kline, Arden E Kline, and Keith E Kline, as well as nephew Stephen L Kline.

Randy is survived by a sister-in-law, Beverly Kline; nephews and nieces; Dennis L Palmiter, Darlene Palmiter (John) Stange, Lonn N (Lynda) Palmiter, Douglas K Kline, Kimberly Kline VanVorst (Denny), and Precious Kline (Jim) Smith; as well as their families and relatives in California.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Randy will be buried next to his mother in Leonidas Cemetery. The Leonidas Cemetery originated on Kline farmland and is the resting place for five generations of Randy’s family.
