Peter A. Monroe, age 47 of Mendon died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 from injuries in a semi-truck accident near Battle Creek. He was born in Three Rivers on Feb. 3, 1971 the son of Lee W. and Ursula (Krick) Monroe. Pete attended Mendon Schools, graduating in 1989. He was married to Amy Kirby on Aug. 3, 2001. He has resided in southwest Michigan his entire life except for eight years in Lakeland, Florida. Pete was a handyman and mechanic, and could fix or repair most things. He enjoyed fishing, and built custom fishing poles. He has held numerous jobs, and for the past twenty years been a driver for R & L Carriers. He looked forward to taking his children to amusement parks and especially enjoyed the roller coasters.

Pete is survived by wife, Amy of Nottawa; five children, Dennis Monroe of Kalamazoo, Peter Monroe of Fulton, Brittany (Jeff) Clay of White Pigeon, Kirsten Prichard of South Carolina, and Megann Monroe of Nottawa; several grandchildren; His father, Lee Monroe of Mendon; two sisters, Evy Schaeffer of Montana and Yvonne Briggs of Mendon; nieces and nephews; and by his fiancé, Jennifer Bailey of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ursula Monroe.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. A private interment will take place later.
