Nancy Elaine Pecoraro, age 84 of rural Three Rivers died Saturday March 12, 2016 at her Portage Lake home. She was born in Coloma, MI on Feb. 8, 1932 the daughter of Carrol L. and Floy E. (Bloomingdale) Wright and has been a lifetime resident of southwest Michigan. She graduated from Coloma High School and later trained as a dental hygienist, working for several area dentists. Nancy was an accomplished vocalist and loved singing and playing music. She enjoyed painting, and taught many others to paint. Nancy was always volunteering her time and talent, most notably at the Coloma Glad & Peach Festival and at Kline's Resort.
Nancy was married to John F. "Jack" Pecoraro in Benton Harbor on Oct. 27, 1962. They retired to Kline's Resort 23 years ago and spent winters in Zephyr Hill, Florida. While living here, she attended the West Mendon United Methodist Church, and they were frequently seen at their grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Nancy is survived by four children, Jack (Ella) Pecoraro, Jr. of Berrien Springs, Ken Martin of Tampa, Florida, David (Theresa) Pecoraro of Riverside, MI, and Teresa (Jeff) Blanchard of Vicksburg; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Deanna Kennedy; her husband, Jack; and by two daughters, Linda Tay and Claudia Stephens.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. Her ashes will be interred at Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy's life at the Community Center at Kline's Resort on Friday April 8, 2016 at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, or to the Autism Society of America. Assistance was provided by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon.
