Melvin D. Yoder, age 65 of Centreville died Monday Dec. 21, 2015 at his home. He was born near Centreville on March 26, 1950 the son of David D. and Mary D. (Yoder) Yoder. He was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Melvin is survived by six siblings, Joseph D. (Mattie) Yoder of Colon, Dennis D. (Alma) Yoder of Colon, Bessie (Samuel) Bontrager of Nappanee, Susan (Truman) Bontrager of Colon, Edna Schrock of Colon, and Miriam (LeRoy) Hostetler of Centreville; sister in law, Fannie Yoder of Centreville; brother in law, Harlan (Martha) Miller of Croften, KY; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willis Yoder; sister, Edith Miller; brother in law, Adlai Schrock; and sister in law, Rosa Yoder.
Visitation will begin at 3 PM Tuesday, and continues all day Wednesday at the M&M Community Center, 59343 Nottawa Road, Centreville, MI 49032. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday Dec. 24th at the Community Center with Home Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the Old Amish Cemetery on Truckenmiller Road. Assistance was provided by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon.
