Mary T. Carter, age 87 of Centreville died Friday June 26, 2015 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers where she had resided the past year. She was born in Beech Grove, IN on Oct. 24, 1927 the daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Heckman) Basso. After graduation from High School, Mary was wed to Ancil A. Carter on March 2, 1948 in Bloomfield, IN. They resided in Gosport Indiana and retired to Centreville in 1999. Mary was a homemaker, who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, and making teddy bears for her family.

Mary is survived by four children, Sharon (Carroll) Fisher of Centreville, Dennis Carter and John Carter both of Las Vegas, and Jimmie (Marsha) Carter of Paragon, IN; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mary will be interred next to her husband at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. The family plans to have a private memorial service at a later date.
