Mary Lou Brandys, age 79 of Scotts, passed away on June 22, 2023 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on March 6, 1944 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Vince and Verna (Puska) Gerring.  She was a high school graduate from Athens High School.  During her working life, Mary Lou worked on the assembly line at Morgan-Olsen, was a bartender in Leonidas and Athens, and was a nurse's aide at Sturgis Hospital.  In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and cooking.  Mary Lou was a simple woman who enjoyed simple things.

She is survived by her three sons; David (Angela) Brandys of Constantine, Christopher (Jennifer) Brandys of Scotts, and Jonathan (Jamie) Brandys of Centreville; Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Bernerd) Saxman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Robert Brandys.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation is being conducted.  A graveside service for Mary Lou will be held at Leonidas Cemetery on July 29, 2023 at 1pm.  Memories and condolences may be expressed to the family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
