Marie Kathryn Noel, age 83 of Mendon, MI passed away at Three Rivers Hospital on January 4, 2026 after a long illness.  She was born in Three Rivers, MI on October 12, 1942 the daughter of John and Lydia (Yoder) Overholt.  She attended Burr Oak and Colon schools.  On October 27, 1959 Marie would marry the love of her life, Lester Noel in Vicksburg, MI and would spend 61 wonderful years together, until his passing in 2021. Marie raised her two sons, and went on to raise multiple grandchildren.  She always showed a remarkable level of understanding, patience, compassion, care, and such profound love that has had an everlasting effect on how her family has raised their children.  Marie enjoyed attending auctions and the Shipshewana flea markets with her friends, sisters, and nieces like it was a marathon, always looking for the best deal.  This often lead to her many collections, ranging from CocaCola, dolls, and salt/pepper shakers.  Marie was a pistol and was known for not having a filter (in the best way).  She was funny, witty, and had a contagious laugh and great sense of humor.  Marie was always there whenever anyone needed her and when you spoke to her, there was no doubt that you had her undivided attention.  it was always comforting to know the was always listening and truly cared.  She would often watch game shows and complete word search puzzles.  Marie tended to her yard, making sure it always looked pristine.  When all the hard work was done, she would listen to Elvis, and enjoy her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly.  She definitely wouldn't miss a chance to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Marie is survived by her son Randy (Tammy) Noel; eight grandchildren; Kayla Holloman, Christina (John) Bingaman, Kortney (Brandon) Burbank, Nathan Dupree, Jessica (Kyle Sass) Noel, Jonathan (Kristina) Noel, Justin (Samantha) Noel, Amber (Chance) Davis; twenty-six great-grandchildren; Mason, Ethan, Morgan, Kami, Kaydence, Cooper, Kian, Dayton, Gianna, Oliver, Joslyn, Layla, Amarha, Christopher, Daimen, Zayden, Everly, Denver, Lynelle, Rosalie, Carter, Karmon, Cameron, Kinsley, Corban, Kennedye; siblings; Leanna (Jerry) Heath, Edna May (Willard) Heath, Melvin (Shirley) Overholt, Donny (Sue) Overholt, Linda (Ron) Hudson, and sister in law, Vicky Overholt; and many nieces, nephews, and extended families.  She was preceded in passing by her parents John and Lydia Overholt; brother Ron Overholt; son Richard Noel; and her husband Lester Noel.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted.  Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 12pm until 2pm at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 W Main St., Mendon, MI 49072) with a memorial service beginning at 2pm with Pastor Clint Zehr officiating.  It is suggested that donations be directed to the Salvation Army.  Condolences and memories may be expressed to her family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
