Linda Lou Pifer, age 67 of Shelbyville, MI died peacefully at her home on Monday May 18, 2015 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Goshen, IN on Oct. 22, 1947 the daughter of Earl and Constance (Fordyce) Mock and attended school in Syracuse, IN. She was married to James David Pifer on Oct. 31, 1963 in Syracuse. He died in 1972. While living in Chicago, Linda worked as an intake specialist for Pacific Garden Ministries. While living in Michigan, she worked in food service for Meijer.
Linda attended the First Baptist Church in Wayland, MI. She enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her great grandchildren and reading to them from the Bible.
Linda is survived by her mother, Connie Mock of Syracuse, IN; three daughters, Connie Pifer of Wayland, Cathy (Joe) Zinsmaster of Three Rivers, MI, and Carrie Pifer of Oseola, IN; four grandchildren, Shannon (Anthony) Boucher of Grand Rapids, MI, Michael Janczewski of Bay City, Joshua (Ashley) DeHaan of Bell Chase, LA, and Callie Mohney of Three Rivers; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marleen (Jack) Leamon of Syracuse, IN; brother, Daniel (Barb) Mock of Oklahoma; step-sister, Linda Jones of Syracuse, IN; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday May 22, 2015 at 12 noon in Maple Grove Cemetery in Comstock Township with Rev. Tim Mattison, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Wayland officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family to assist with expenses. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon.
