Laura Anne Barga, age 63 of Colon died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born in Kalamazoo on Feb. 15, 1955 the daughter of William Ferris Bibbings and Berta Jean (Knapp) Harrison. She graduated from Otsego High School and attended Lake Superior State College. Laura was a plasterer and was a member of the Carpenter's Union and the OPCMIA. Throughout her life she was an active participant of the horse community. She was a 4-H Leader and created the Desperados Horse Club. She served as the Horse Council Superintendent, and Past president of the Kal-Val Saddle Club. She took great pleasure in helping all kids participate in the horse program. Laura loved buying little surprise gift bags for friends and family. She will be remembered for her kind heart and love of family.

Laura was married to James L. Barga on Feb. 15, 1985. He survives along with seven children, Dawne (Steve) Steele of Plainwell, Jamie (Kris) Barga of Vicksburg, Wendy (Mitch) Henckel of Topinabee, MI, Timary (Thomas) Fuller of Portage, Kelly (Hoss) Reeg of Sherwood, Danica Barga and Kyle Barga both of Colon; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Leslie (Craig) Warren of Plainwell and Lynn (Robert) Walbeck of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Megan Berniece Holt.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. There will be a reception and time of remembrance held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 from 2 to 6 pm at the Colon American Legion Post, 122 E.
