Lance James Monroe, age 61 of Twin Lakes and formerly of Mendon died Monday July 5, 2021 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers, MI on June 13, 1960 the son of Dwight J. and Delores M. (Stutsman) Monroe. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1975 and served on multiple sea deployments aboard the USS Puget Sound until his discharge in 1983. Lance was a systems analyst at Herman-Miller office equipment for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing trips across the country. Always wanting to help others, he organized a neighborhood watch program for his lake area friends.

Lance is survived by three brothers, Bruce Monroe of Niles, Scott Monroe of Constantine, and Randy (Tracy) Monroe of White Pigeon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Leon Frye; and a sister, Vickie Monroe.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial celebration will be held from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Connor Bayou Woodland Cabin, 12945 North Cedar Dr., Grand Haven, MI.
