Joyce Ann Cartwright, age 89 of Mendon died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on the family farm in Mendon on Feb. 26, 1933 the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret (Harmon) Wing. She attended the Reserve Country School, and graduated from Colon High School in 1951. She was married to Paul Cartwright on Sep. 12, 1951 in Angola, Indiana. Together they farmed until Paul's death on Nov. 2, 2000.  Joyce's banking career began as a bookkeeper for E. Hill & Sons State Bank in Colon. She worked for Citizens Bank of Sturgis and retired as Vice President of Banc-One of Columbus, Ohio in 1988.  Joyce was a longtime member of the Scotts United Methodist Church. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, Paul, sewing, and flower gardening.

Joyce is survived by her very good friends, whom she considered her family, Bob and Linda Vander Straaten of Mendon; their children, Michael (Angie) Vander Straaten and Sarah (Jake) Pease; and their grandchildren, Ethan, Blake, and Dylan Vander Straaten, and Calvin and Lucy Pease.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon with Rev. Beverly Williams, Pastor of the Scotts United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Beard Cemetery.  It is suggested that donations in Joyce's memory be directed to the Scotts United Methodist Church.  Memories and condolences may be shared at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
