Joyce Joann Beebe, age 86 of Portage died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017. She was born in Kalamazoo on Nov. 15, 1931 the daughter of Bernard C. and Mildred M. (English) Haas. She graduated from Mendon High School in 1949 and later from the Nazareth School of Nursing. Joyce was married to Allen J. Beebe on Nov. 27, 1954 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon. Joyce worked at the Upjohn company for 22 years and was a Red Cross volunteer. She was active with Ministry of Community and Ladies Library in Kalamazoo as well as Friends of the Mendon Library and the Heritage School Foundation.

Joyce is survived by five children, Lori (Tim) Vargason, Timothy (Debra) Beebe, Kathy (Brian) O'Boyle, Jane (Mark) Bainbridge, and Patrick Beebe; thirteen grandchildren, Caitlyn (Jason) Peters, Chelsea Vargason, Justin (Sarah) Beebe, Brandon Beebe, Cassandra Beebe, Jennifer Beebe, Colin (Erin) O'Boyle, Bridget (Michael) Goertler, Lauren (Chris) Burns, Emily Bainbridge, Sophia, Lily, and Anabelle Beebe; seven great-grandchildren, Sloane, Tate, Logan, Ayden, Owen, Jameson, and Braxton; brother, Carroll Haas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen; daughter, Alycia; brothers, Terrence "Ted" Haas and Arthur Haas; and sister, Jeannette Donnelly.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, and where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. The Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Rev. Chris Ankley officiating. Interment will be in St. Edward Cemetery followed by a gathering at the church. It is suggested that memorials be directed to either the St. Edward Catholic Church Preservation Fund, the Mendon Community Schools Foundation, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
