Obituary

Joseph Millrose Fletcher, III entered into the arms of Jesus on July 29, 2026. Joe was born on April 25, 1943 in Detroit, MI the son of Joe Fletcher Jr. and Isabel Barlow. He attended Redford High School in Detroit, MI and was part of the 1961 graduating class. Following graduation, Joe would join the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for three years while stationed in Roswell, NM. After the service, he would attend Wayne State University and obtain a degree in the arts. He began his working career as an art teacher in Canada. Later, he entered the automotive industry and became a quality engineer and manager. During these years, he worked for Cadillac Motors, LEAR Corporation, and Eaton, where he retired. Joe was a talented artist and jeweler and blessed many family members and friends with beautiful custom jewelry, pottery, sculptures, drawings, and paintings.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Gerry Fletcher; his loving stepdaughters, Nicole Vidal and Alisha (Tom) Mendham; his eight grandchildren, Gavin (Kylie) Crist, Jonah (Ruthanne) Moyer, Brenden Vidal, Brodie Vidal, Adisson Vidal, Owen Mendham, Lena Mendham, and Jade Mendham; two great grandchildren, Declan Crist and Lochlan Crist; his special kitty, Smokey; his siblings, John Fletcher, Tom (Shiela) Fletcher, Kathy (Ken) Cox; his sister-in-law, Susan (Erik) Bergman, his brother-in-law and best friend, Leroy Crabtree; several special nieces and nephews. Joe was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jeff Crabtree; his son, Matthew Fletcher (we know they are enjoying a happy reunion, along with other loved ones who have entered through the gates of Heaven).

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, cremation is being conducted. A private memorial will take place at a later date. It is suggested that donations made in Joe’s name be directed to Generous Hands, Inc in Vicksburg, MI. Condolences and memories may be expressed to his family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
