Joan Truckey, age 85, of Mendon, passed away on October 3, 2022 at Fairview Nursing Home in Centreville.  She was born in Muncie, IN on March 14, 1937 the daughter of Harold and Jane (DeWitt) Qualkenbush.  Joan was married to Jay Dee Lowery on Dec. 31, 1954 and they were later divorced.  On December 23, 1993 Joan married James Truckey.  During her working years, Joan worked at Elms Adult Foster Care in Centreville, was an aid at Fairview Nursing Home, and was a physical therapist at Three Rivers Hospital.  In her free time, she enjoyed baking, tending to her flowers in her garden, and being a wonderful homemaker.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Diane (Ron) Bryant of Greenville, SC and Dreasa (John) Lowery-Paver of Kalamazoo, MI; one son, Rick (Lena) Lowery of Mendon, MI; one brother, Don (Sherry) Qualkenbush of AZ; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband James Truckey, son Randy Lowery, daughter Delise Lowery, and brother Ron Qualkenbush.

Joan's family will receive friends from 9am until 11am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Carl Litchfield officiating.  Following the service, burial will take place at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville.
