Gladys W. Heath, age 88 of Leonidas, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on November 9, 1933 the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Milham) VanFulpen. After high school, Gladys sang in a dance band in Leonidas on Saturday nights. She was married to Durwood "Pork" Heath on March 5, 1966 in Leonidas. They resided briefly on Kalamazoo and Colon before moving to Leonidas in 1977.  Gladys worked at WL Molding in Kalamazoo, Federal Mogul in Mendon, and retired from Colmer-Maxitrol in Colon. She always looked forward to family events, and going shopping with her friends.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Gladys is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Durwood Heath; three sons, Don (Lovanda) Heath of Mendon, Dennis (Casey) Heath of Coldwater and Lynn Sager; daughter, Vivian Saftlas of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Alison, Dalton, Megan, and Dean Heath, and Jessica Saftlas.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted.  The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial services will begin at 6 pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Clint Zehr officiating.
