Gerald D. Lash, age 70 of Vicksburg, passed away at his home after battling a long illness.  He was born in Mendon, Michigan on July 9, 1953 the son of Donald O. and Doris Eilene (McClish) Lash.  As a child, Gerald would help with the local carnival and would even travel to assist in their shows.  Gerald attended Vicksburg High School and was part of the 1971 graduating class.  After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country in Vietnam, where he drove truck delivering supplies to our nation's heroes.  After he was honorably discharged, he attended Davenport College where he obtained a degree in Business Management.  Gerald worked for Miller Davis, always being busy.  He never rested, after work his time was spent cutting firewood, which often needed the help of his son.  Gerald liked the simple things in life, especially being outdoors with his friends and family.  Occasionally, he would take trips to Michigan International Speedway to enjoy NASCAR races.  Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and would help anyone that needed it.

Gerald is survived by his mother Doris Eilene Lash; son Mark (Brenda) Lash; grandson Dakota (Sarah) Lash; great-grandchildren Emma and Lola Lash; siblings Ron (Pam) Lash, Terri Simmons, Betty (Rick) Mayo, and Pat (Phil) Pritchard.  He was preceded in death by his father Don, and daughter in law Chianne Lash.

Visitation for Gerald will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 West Main Street, Mendon, MI 49072) from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm.  Burial and Military Rites will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery (15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012) on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2pm.  Condolences and memories may be expressed to the family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
