Gary William Miller, Sr., age 92 of Three Rivers died Sunday Oct. 7, 2012 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Howard City, MI on Sep. 7, 1920 the son of the late Jessey and Della (Baldwin) Miller. Gary enlisted twice in the Army Air Corps, serving from 1942 to 1947. He had been employed with Formed Tubes in Sturgis for 20 years, and later with the City of Sturgis Department of Public Works. Jim was a former member of both the Eagles and Elks Lodges in Three Rivers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and watching wrestling in his spare time.
Gary is survived by one son, Gary William Miller, Jr. (Bev Phillips) of Colon; four grandchildren, Greg Miller (Peggy Day) of Mendon, Mark Miller of Mendon, Kevin Miller of Three Rivers, and Lisa Miller (Mark Leister) of Three Rivers; five great-grandchildren, Jason Cousins, Chelsea Wheeler, Brittany Haigh, Lindsey Miller, and Gregory Miller; four great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Haigh, Braxten Haigh, Graysen Haigh, and Carlianna Avery; three brothers, Albert Miller (Shirley), Howard Miller, and Jim Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; two wives; several sisters; and a daughter in law, Sharon Miller.
A graveside service and military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 10, 2012 in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
