Erla Adams, age 82, formerly of Mendon died Friday Feb. 17, 2017 in Grand Rapids. She was born in Cleveland, OH on June 4, 1934 the daughter of Earl C. and Rose V. (Miller) Wakelee. She was married to Sidney Adams on June 2, 1962 in Brunswick, OH. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Erla is survived by four children, Sydney (Kimberly) Adams of Alto, Earl (Elizabeth) Adams of Hastings, Regina (Larry) Beach of Sturgis, and Susan Padgett of Jacksonville, NC; seven grandchildren, Natalie and Nicholas Adams, Emily and Ellie Adams, Amy Donovan, Jessica O'Daire, and Joshua Padgett; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2017 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. In keeping with her wishes cremation has been conducted and a private interment will take place later in Dutton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Hospice at www.ghospice.com.
