Dustin Lee Douglas, age 42 of Sturgis, MI passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2026 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on August 23, 1983 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Debra Shannon-Douglas. Dustin attended Mendon High School and was part of the 2001 graduating class. Following high school, he would obtain his associates degree from ITT Technical Institute to further his career.

Dustin enjoyed fishing and camping during his trips to Atlanta, MI. He was known for his cooking skills, whether it was smoking meats, making bone-sticking crock pot meals, or experimenting and being creative in the kitchen, cooking meals was always a joy. Dustin loved making people laugh, especially his children and his close friends. He listened to a wide variety of music, sometimes it was heavy metal, sometimes it was classic country. Dustin was an avid Star Wars fan, reading sci-fi novels, and yes, playing War Zone. Above all else, his close friends and children meant the world to him, and he will be missed dearly by many.

Dustin is survived by his mother, Debra (John) Hampton; his daughter, MaKenzie Douglas; his son, Weston Douglas; his brother, Joseph Hester; his sister, Shannon (Tim) Brundrette, his grandmother, Charlotte Shannon; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his dear friends. He was preceded in passing by his uncle, Jerry Shannon; his grandfather, David Shannon.

Visitation for Dustin will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 W Main Street, Mendon, MI 49072) from 11am until 1pm with funeral services beginning at 1pm with Pastor Dave Stevens officiating. Following services, cremation will be conducted. It is suggested that donations made in his name be directed to the family for his children.
