Duane Jay Bell, age 72 of Mendon, died Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his home. He was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on Nov. 16, 1950 the son of Richard D. and Barbara J. (Fenwick) Bell. After Vicksburg High School, Duane served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He had been employed at United Paper Company in Sturgis, and most recently at T-H Plastics in Mendon.  He enjoyed being outdoors, kayaking, hunting, and fishing.

Duane is survived by daughters, Shawanna (Travis) Bell of Plainwell and Laura Rice; step-children, Wendy Zinsmaster, Jackie (Robert) Baker both of Mendon and Tom (Jonnie) Zinsmaster of Scotts; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dave (Kathy) Bell of Mendon, Terry (Diane) Bell of Mattawan, Bruce (Bonnie) Bell of Portage, and Darrell Bell of Mendon; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda (Wilbur-Zinsmaster) Bell in 2015, and step-daughter, Pat Phelps.
