Donald Edward Wheeler, age 85 of Colon died Thursday Jan. 31, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on June 19, 1927 the son of the late Lloyd and Ethel (Bohn) Wheeler and attended schools in Defiance. Donald was a truck driver for several years and worked at the Chrysler Corporation assembly plant in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Donald is survived by his wife, Susan Heath-Wheeler whom he married on June 20, 2008. Also surviving are three sisters, Pauline Wise of Fremont, OH, Betty Brooks of Helena, OH, and Shirley Lease of Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; his first wife, Mary Ann (Knause) Wheeler; and a son, Donald Wheeler II.

Cremation has been conducted. Memorial services will be held in the Spring of 2013 and his ashes will be interred later in Swanton, Ohio. Condolences may be left at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
