Diane E. Haynes, age 83 of Portage, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 11, 2025.  She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on March 5, 1942 the daughter of John and Theda (Bowersox) Penning.  Diane attended Portage Central High School and was part of the 1960 graduating class.  On June 6, 1976 Diane would marry William Haynes in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Diane was an artist at heart; restoring old broken-down furniture into a masterpiece.  She was an avid crafter and a professional consignment shop trader.  Diane loved antiques and compiled quite the glassware and rooster collection that left many people in awe.  She was a wonderful wife and an amazing mom to her children.

Diane is survived by her two children; Tina Gales and Todd (Becky) Haynes both of Mendon, Michigan; 6 grandchildren; Haleigh (Brady) Cupp, Ciera (Xavier Spicer) Haynes, Mason (Kayla) Haynes, Jessica (Steven) Young, Joe (Jalynne) Gales, and Jenna (Joe) LeSueur; 8 great-grandchildren; Layne, Levi, Cameron, Kyrie, Amiyah, Emerson, Sebastian, Brynne, and one on the way; and extended family.  She was preceded in passing by her parents; John and Theda Penning; son-in-law; Brian Gales; two siblings; and her loving husband; William Haynes.
