Dawn L. Hiemstra, age 56 of Angola, Indiana, died Thursday, Sep. 23, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.  She was born in Chicago, Illinois on Feb. 24, 1965 the daughter of Jacob C. and Janice M. (Peters) Hiemstra.  She graduated from Colon High School and later from Glen Oaks Community College.  She resided in Angola where she worked briefly at an auto detail shop, and was currently employed at Kirk Enterprise Solutions.  Dawn was a former volunteer firefighter in Angola, and was a member of Miami Valley Rug-Hooking Guild ATHA Chapter 98.  She enjoyed her 1985 Monte Carlo, riding motorcycles, and was a lifetime HOG member.

Dawn is survived by a brother, Brian Hiemstra; nephews, Brian Hiemstra, Jr., and Michael Hiemstra; five great-nieces and nephews, Carter, Jackson, Landon, Mason, and McKenna; her companion of nine years, Christopher Meisch and his family; her Florida aunt and uncle; and by very special friends, Dawn Dove, Denise Booth, Jennifer and Jeff Kirk and cherished by their son, Kayman and many, many others.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will be conducted, and no formal services are scheduled at this time.  A celebration will be announced by her family and friends at a later date.  Assistance was provided by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon, Michigan.
