David Duane Watson, age 65, died Monday, January 2, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. He was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on January 15, 1957 the son of Kenneth D. and Goldie A. (Butler) Watson. He attended elementary school in Vicksburg, and graduated from Mendon High School it the class of 1975. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army, and later earned his Associate's Degree in Art from Jackson Community College. He was a long-time employed of Lear Plastics, and later I.A.C in Mendon and served president of UAW Local 503.  In his leisure time he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, reading Stephen King novels and writing. Without a doubt he especially enjoyed family vacations, and time with the grandchildren.

Dave is survived by two daughters, Andrea (Andrew Thurston) Watson of South Bend and Amanda (Cody) Hartford of Goshen; three grandchildren, Tallen Schmidtendorff, Adilyn Thurston and Ayla Thurston; and his best friend, Ron Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Dawn.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A graveside service will be 11 am Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Vicksburg Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S Army Honor Guard and the Vicksburg V.F.W. Post # 5189.
