David Franklin Moyer, age 75 of Leonidas died Sunday Jan. 31, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo following a two year illness. He was born in Vicksburg on April 9, 1940 the son of Claude E. and Gertrude E. (Mohney) Moyer. He attended school in Battle Creek. David had worked at service stations in Kalamazoo, at Essex Wire, Prudential Nursery in Vicksburg, Lear Sigler in Mendon, and Fastener Coatings in Three Rivers.
David was married to Donna Marie Franks on May 31, 1963 in Vicksburg. She survives along with four children, Linda Moyer, Christine (James) Dunbar, and David Wayne Moyer all of Leonidas and Brenda Lynn Moyer of Colon; six grandchildren, Darlene Nelson, Keisha Bates, Amber Moyer, Sonya Moyer, LaDonna Topping, and Brandon Wilbur; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Evankovich of East Leroy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlton, Ivan, Shirley, and Lawrence Moyer; and by a sister, Alice Elmore.
The family will receive friends from 10 am to noon on Friday Feb. 5, 2016 at the Factoryville Bible Church. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon Friday at the church with Pastor Fred Goebert officiating. Burial will follow in Factoryville Cemetery. Donations will be directed to the family.
