Daniel Harry McClelland, age 82 of Mendon and formerly of Flint, died Monday, March 22, 2021 at Safe Haven Adult Living in Three Rivers. He was born in Chapin, Michigan on Aug. 18, 1938 the son of the late Harold and Katherine (Herron) McClelland.   After graduation from High School her served in the U.S. Army. Daniel worked for General Motors at the Metal Fab plant in Flint for 38 years. Following his retirement due to a loss of sight, he built houses and furniture for several years. Daniel was a member of the Fenton Lions Club, the Eagles Club in Durand, Moose Lodge in Fenton, and the Elks Club in Flint. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf, and bowling.

Daniel is survived by a son, Patrick (Stacey) McClelland of Mendon; five grandchildren, Mikala (Adam Doty) McClelland of Mendon, Charles McClelland of Mendon, Jessica Harbin of Battle Creek, Josh Harbin of Flint, and Aiden Olsen of Baldwin; a brother, Doug (Judy) McClelland of Chapin; a sister, Jane Widener of Newburn, NC; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Sherry McClelland; and a step-daughter, Kimberly Fisher.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted and a memorial service will be held later. It is suggested that memorial donations for sight projects be directed to the Fenton Lions Club, P.O. Box 488, Fenton, MI 48430.
