Betty June Brookman, age 87 of Vicksburg died Tuesday Nov. 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Allegan, MI on Dec. 18, 1925 the daughter of Eugene and Hazel (Dokey) Johnson. She was married to Harland Leon Brookman in Hopkins, MI on Sep. 4, 1948. Betty was a homemaker who also worked at Seal-test, U.S Plywood, Gilmore Dep't Store, and ARCO in Schoolcraft.

Betty is survived by five children, Carolyn (Richard) Wise of Scotts, Thomas (Noma) Brookman of Claypool, IN, Judy Wilcox of Three Rivers, Sue Ann (Mike) Hatfield of Mendon, and Ron (Lynn) Brookman of Schoolcraft; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Barbara Gettys.

Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 30, 2013 at the Prairie Baptist Church, 11210 PQ Avenue, Scotts, MI with Associate Pastor John Woullard officiating. Memorials may be directed to either Prairie Baptist Church, or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 222 N. Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
