Anita Marie
Bonney
Feb 22, 1959 — May 14, 2026
Anita Marie Bonney, age 67, passed away on May 14, 2026 in Warren, MI following a brief illness. She was born on February 22, 1959 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Eddie Allen and Elvie Ross. Anita attended Mendon High School and was part of the 1977 graduating class. For nearly 20 years, Anita was an exceptional Educational Representative in the Department of Civil Rights, in the International UAW.
Anita was known for being a master in the kitchen; cooking and baking anything she put her mind to; especially her desserts, which were widely loved. Her kitchen was known for something else as well, roosters. Rooster decorations everywhere; wallpaper, spoon holders, towels, you name it. Roosters. Anita was always excited for her trips to Bay City with her family and friends, for a fun filled weekend of fishing and camping. She loved relaxing at home as well, watching her favorite westerns and soap operas, snuggling her puppies; Pebbles, Leo, and Bailey. Anita would be seen walking the casino floor, playing scratch offs, and playing odd games; she was a talented gambler who just enjoyed having fun. Most importantly, Anita loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her three children; Bernadette Henley (Kenneth Primm, Jr.), Tracey Martin, and Janet Allen; five grandchildren; Christopher (Kelsey) Maye, Jalen Boes, Natasia Boes, Mekhi Curry, Gabrielle Allen, and Adonis Bonney; five great-grandchildren; Miles, Julian, Monroe, Palmer, and Kayden; her mother; Elvie Ross; two sisters; Angela and Flossie; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in passing by her father; Eddie Sr.; three siblings; Dorothy, Eddie Jr., and Don; and her son; Kevin T. Bonney.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home (311 W Main St., Mendon, MI 49072) from 11am until 1pm, with services beginning at 1pm.
