Rosemary D. Johnson

Rosemary Delores Johnson, age 84 of Three Rivers, died Saturday June 30, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Fostoria, MI on Dec. 22, 1927 the daughter of Anthony and Clementine (Robinet) Schlaud. She graduated from St. Frederick’s Catholic School in Pontiac and later attended Nursing School, working as an L.P.N. in Mt. Clemons and Lapeer, MI. While she was in Lapeer she met and later married her husband, Wayne E. Johnson on May 7, 1956 in Imlay City. They moved to Battle Creek in 1959, and came to the Three Rivers-Vicksburg area in 1974. Rosemary was a homemaker who also worked at Pioneer Seed Corn Co. and Nagle’s Gladiola Farm.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Wayne; eleven children, Annmarie Johnson of Kalamazoo, Gregory Johnson of Three Rivers, Brian (Teresa) Johnson of Three Rivers, Michele Johnson of Vicksburg, Jeff (Penny) Johnson of Elkhart, Krista Van Ostran of Lawton, Tim Johnson of Vicksburg, Kevin (Pam) Johnson of Mendon, Denise Johnson of Cleveland, OH, Amy (Albert) Imoe of Valiant, OK, and Jennifer (Jon) Persson of Muskegon; 27 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Johnny; and grandson, Andrew Imoe; two brothers, Leonard and Ken; five sisters, Beatrice, Mildred, Frances, Florence, and Marian.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday July 4th at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday July 5, 2012 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Rev. Jim Vinh Le officiating. Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to either St. Edward Catholic Church, or to St. Jude’s Research Foundation.
