T he Eickhoff Funeral Home was founded in 1947 by the late Harry and Margaret Eickhoff. Following World War II, they made a visit to Mendon shortly after the local funeral director, Roy Olney had died. They took one look at the home's beautiful location on the St. Joseph River and fell in love with it. More importantly, they came to love the people of Mendon, and chose this place to raise their family.

Harry and Margaret were blessed with seven children, Sue, Jon, Marty, Rick, Dale, Tom, and Lynn.

Their fifth child, Dale has been licensed since 1977. Since purchasing the business in 1983, he and his wife, Vicki have been providing care to the Mendon community while raising their five sons, Jason, Brian, Kevin, Aaron, and Glenn.

It is truly a family owned and operated funeral home, dedicated to personal service.
